Local Area
The Holiday Inn Southampton-Eastleigh sits in a spot meant for cars, not for walkers. Right away you find yourself in a business park and there are no sites to see, pubs or key spots of interest close enough to walk to with ease. This hotel makes up a whole place by itself where guests can use the on-site features without having to go out.
For practical needs, the walkability is limited. There is a pub-style restaurant, The Gateway by Table Table, just outside the hotel grounds, providing one convenient alternative for an evening meal within a 5-minute walk. However, for any other shops, cafes, or services, a short drive is necessary. The town center of Eastleigh is approximately 1.5 miles away, a longer walk of about 30 minutes that most guests would prefer to do by car or taxi.
It has nice and secure compound for a short walk plus an outside courtyard dining area. The major "walkable" attractions are inside, from your room going to the very good Spirit Health Club or the children's play area. One should reserve this hotel with thinking that a vehicle is required as a primary mode of transport for any and all off-site activities.
